Dialectical Behavior Therapy
DBT is an effective treatment approach for helping people make positive and long-term behavior changes to create a life worth living. DBT is similar to taking a class, and we cover four major topics:
- Develop mindfulness skills to respond effectively, rather than react, and to calm down in a healthy way
- Learn effective coping skills to manage stressors, crises, and big emotions
- Create an individualized self-care coping toolbox to reduce distressful feelings and thoughts that often lead to problematic behaviors
- Learn to create healthy relationships, manage conflicts, and communicate effectively
Through emphasizing change and validating your experiences, we're here to motivate you, enhance your capabilities, and help you generalize what you learn in session to your environments. DBT is offered for teens and adults.
