What to Expect
Begin your journey to your next best self by contacting us. For your first appointment, we will go over certain questions about you and your life so that we may make an initial assessment of your situation. Some of these questions will address your reason for seeking services, your personal history and current situation, your symptoms, and what our goals are. This may vary if you are a minor, or are accompanying a minor. The first session is about fifty to sixty minutes long. It is important to discuss what has motivated you to schdulea session and what your expectations are. Your one-on-one sessions will always be individually paced – we will work together at whatever speed is most comfortable for you. Typically, sessions are weekly; however, we will determine the duration and frequency of your journey based on what fits best with your needs. Some people stay in therapy for a few sessions; others stay for years. Either way, your wants, needs, and progress are of utmost importance for our time together. In all forms of therapy, treatment is most effective when the client is motivated to change. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that some people may benefit more than others, and some may spend shorter times in therapy than others.
